Beer Bike and Tons of Poker on Day 2 of the CGF Bratislava
September 27, 2019Three Trophy Winners Crowned on Day 4 of the CGF Bratislava
September 29, 2019The buzz and excitement could be felt by anyone with a pulse during Day 3 of the Cash Game Festival Bratislava at Banco Casino.
There was tons of action at the TV tables, side tables, and, of course, during our VIP dinner for those with the hospitality package.
Matus Kucera Wins PLO Feature Table
Yesterday featured three televised feature tables instead of the usual two. The action was bigger than before with chips flying around on all of the tables. In fact, the winners of all three tables took the lead in the trophy races awarded to the players that win the most big blinds at any PLO feature table, any NLHE feature table, or any mixed game feature table.
The cameras began rolling with a €2/€2 PLO affair where the player on the button could choose with it was four-card or five-card. Slovakia’s very own Matus Kucera (pictured below) was the biggest winner after booking a profit of €1,139 or 569.5 big blinds.
Kucera won’t be playing the PLO feature table today as he will be hopping into the FiftyGrand tournament which we will talk about a little later. He did share he would keep an eye on the action as he is very keen on claiming it for himself and winning a package valued at €1,000 to our next festival at the Poker Room Bucharest on Oct. 16-20.
Steven Velleteri Shines in Short Deck
After a bit of a break, the game changed to Ante-Only Short Deck. The stakes weren’t massive with a €2 ante and the button tossing in an extra ante of €2, but this didn’t stop players taking down huge pots left and right. It didn’t hurt that there was a jack-six game where if a player won a hand with this hole card combination they would win €15 from each player.
Early on in the stream, players decided to each put in €100 into the pot for a Short Deck flip. Sam Clark, who has shared both before and after the flip that he is a ‘flip expert’ took it down and that put him as the odds on favorite to be the biggest winner at the table.
Instead, it was Steven Velletri (pictured below) claiming the honors after taking down a profit of €1,457 or 728.5 big blinds.
Jamie Boevey Wins his Second NLHE TV Table
Jamie Boevey (pictured below) has been an absolute star at the TV tables. He won the most on the first €2/€5 NLHE TV table on Day 1 and has followed it up with an even bigger win on yesterday’s Day 3 €2/€5 NLHE after walking away with €1,532 in profit or 306.4 big blinds.
Jamie made an incredible hero call during the stream to win a €2.4K pot. His opponent jammed in with a pot-sized bet on a nine-high board with two nines pairing with just king-queen suited and won the pot as his opponent held only jack-high.
FiftyGrand Update
Running at the same time as the Cash Game Festival is the FiftyGrand tournament featuring a low €110 buy-in and a healthy €50,000 guarantee.
Yesterday’s Day 1c attracted 112 entrants to bring the total field up to 278 entrants total. This means going into today the tournament is still €22,000 away from meeting the guarantee.
A total of 18 players survived making it 45 total thus far that will play in Sunday’s Final Day. Josef Libo emerged as the overall chip leader yesterday after bagging a massive stack of 450,000 in chips.
Today features two opening flights. Day 1d kicks off at 5 p.m. with the normal structure of 30,000 in starting chips and 30-minute blind levels. The turbo Day 1e flight begins three hours later at 8 p.m. where blinds will be just 15 minutes. The sixth and final flight takes place Sunday morning at 10 a.m. and will feature a hyper-turbo format with 10-minute blind levels.

The first package winner was selected last night and local player Karol Masarovic was the lucky winner. Masarovic has been to other CGFs in Bratislava and also attended one of our festivals in Tallinn.
At least one more package winner will be drawn on Sunday night giving players plenty of time to earn some valuable tickets to the drawing.
What’s on Tap?
Day 4 will be the biggest yet of the Cash Game Festival Bratislava. Not only are there two opening flights for the FiftyGrand but the cash games area will be packed with action. This doesn’t mean you won’t be able to get a seat as the Banco Casino staff is known for getting its guests seated as quickly as possible.
Today will also feature some big feature table action. Starting things off is a €1/€3 NLHE affair at 5 p.m.
The televised action gets even more exciting from there as next up will be our now famous five-five-five game, meaning five-card PLO with stakes at €5/€5.
Wrapping up the televised action for the festival will be a fun €2/€2 Sviten Special table. Expect some excitement as the players already agreed to a mandatory €5 straddle.
A trophy ceremony will take place after the final TV table where we will honor the biggest winners at our NLHE, PLO, and Mixed Game TV tables. Along with a trophy, the winners will also be awarded a CGF Bucharest package valued at €1,000.
