Ivan Tang Wins Second Feature Table on Day 2
June 14, 2019Bobby James Wins the CGF Tallinn Trophy
June 27, 2019Day 3 of the Cash Game Festival Tallinn was one to remember with plenty of fun for players on and away from the tables.
Players with the hospitality package, including of VIP guests that qualified at the Microgaming Poker Network (MPN), dressed up in costumes and went around town including to a fair before coming back to the casino to the excitement of all those battling it out on the tables.
Will Sum Yip win the Trophy?
Hong Kong’s Sum Yip is in the driver’s seat for a trophy on his first visit to a Cash Game Festival. He won €2,395 or 1,197.5 big blinds at the early €2/€2 PLO feature table that was joined by a handful of players still wearing their costumes from earlier in the day.
Sum came to Tallinn to check out the Cash Game Festival for the first time with his friend Ivan Tang. If you have been following the festival, you are already aware that Ivan was the biggest winner on two feature tables earlier in the festival.
Both players live in London but only heard the great things about the festival from others and never attended one of the many in the city they now call their home.
There are still two more days and four feature tables to go to see if anyone can win more than Sum to claim the CGF Tallinn trophy awarded to the player that wins the biggest amount of blinds at any of our feature tables. Along with the trophy, the winner will also be awarded a package to our next festival at Platinum Casino in Sunny Beach, Bulgaria on Aug. 7-11.
Sadly we had to say goodbye to Sum and Ivan as they could not stay for the weekend. But regardless of whether Sum wins the trophy or not, they have both shared that they had a blast and would be back for a future festival.
Luck on Toumas’ Side to Win the Second Feature Table
The game changed to €2/€5 NLHE feature table and it was full of action. MPN package winner Tuomas Urtti (pictured above with fellow MPN package winner Bernard Larabi) was the star of the show winning €1,920 in profit or 388 big blinds.
Toumas showed tons of heart but this could be a case of “don’t do this at home.” Toumas jammed for about €1,200 with four-deuce suited in a triple straddled pot and a facing a raise from two-time CGF trophy winner Martin “Franke” von Zweigbergk.
Estonian poker legend and runner-up in a WSOP event last year Ranno Sootla woke up with queens and jammed over the top for a bit more. Sum Yip got it in with eights and Franke decided his big slick was worth a gamble.
Franke began some early celebrations after an ace paired him up on the flop to give him the advantage in the hand. This was quickly erased as the turn gave Toumas a straight. The other three players were drawing dead at this point and Toumas scooped up a massive pot.
What’s up Today?
It’s Saturday night, which means the action at the casino will be even bigger than in the first three days. Players with the hospitality package, including our special guests from MPN, will enjoy a world-class dinner with our team before heading into action at the casino with full bellies.
Also, for the first time, the Cash Game Festival will be hosting a five-card Omaha stream!
Check out our Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube to follow the action close and personal. And, of course, don’t forget to tune into our Twitch stream to watch what promises to be some fun action at both of our t.v. tables starting at 8 p.m. EEST/6 p.m. GMT.
