May 1, 2017Day 1 – Poker on the Rock Aka Cash Game Festival in Gibraltar
May 18, 2017We are proud to introduce Poker.se, our media partner from Sweden. They have been on our side for a while now. We know them well and we would like you to get to know them a little better as well.
Our main contact person at Poker.se, and a friend, Erik Rosenberg (in the photo), a self-proclaimed poker nerd, gave us a very nice interview that we would like to share with you. Erik is also most likely to come to Cash Game Festival Gibraltar stop, so do not be shy to say “Hi!” to him. As far as we understand, he is always up for a good poker chat.
What is Poker.se all about and what your history?
Generally we use to say we are for poker nerds, by poker nerds. We consider us the number one stop in Sweden for poker related news, content and promotions. Our aim is to be relevant, trustworthy and update in everything we publish on the site, and we also put a lot of effort in keeping contact with the players in the Swedish poker community, from amateurs to the top pros.
We started as a Swedish poker portal exclusively many years ago during the poker boom, but have widened our offer with other sites in other areas and nations. Contrary to many of our competitors we have managed to keep Poker.se as pure poker product, and I think that and the fact that we always try to keep high quality in all our content is the key that we not only have survived but kept pole position.
I personally have been a part of the team for quite many years, and for the last two years I am head of poker content for all our products. My baby is still Poker.se, our flag ship in poker.
What events do you cover?
Our main target for 2017 is to cover World Series of Poker in Las Vegas and the two Swedish Championships in Stockholm (at Cosmopol) and Tallinn (The Swedish Poker Federations Championship). Probably we will also do WSOP Europe in Rozvadov next autumn and possibly Paf Poker Chalenge. If there is time and resources it would be a blast to visit one of the Cash Game Festivals, but time will tell.
What are your future plans?
To continue to do what we do best, to provide the Swedish audience with high quality and up to date content about the Swedish poker scene. We also plan to further strengthen our positions outside Sweden; we have high expectations about our sibling site Norskpoker.com, just to mention one of our projects.
The moment of truth – what do you think about the Cash Game Festival?
I think the idea of the Cash Game Festival is brilliant. It is something totally unique. Franke and his team has over and over again proved their critics wrong, and that it is a concept that not only works but also is a huge success. For us at Poker.se it is also an opportunity to get good content for an audience that wants more than tournament and high stakes poker news. I have visited the CGF once, in Malta 2016, and it was a great trip. Good arrangement, nice venue and some of the friendliest staff members you can find in the industry.
Tack så mycket, Erik!
