Meet Cash Game Festival Online Streamer “RustRock”

Rustrock is a big-time poker streamer on his RustRock Twitch channel where he has over a quarter of a million views and almost 10 thousand followers. He only got into the game a little more than a year and a half ago when he was streaming survival games. Like many players, he watched the poker stream of Jason Somerville, which led to his transition into poker.
Rustrock shared with us a bit about himself and his thoughts on the Cash Game Festival and the fact he will be streaming his action during the upcoming Cash Game Festival Online taking place from Oct. 24-30.
When and how did you get into poker?
I started playing poker 17 months ago. Before that I had no idea what a flush or a straight was. Since the first day I feel in love with the game of poker and am learning each day.
I learned about poker due to streaming survival games and feeling the desire to try out something new. That was game of poker. All thanks goes to Jason “JCarver” Somerville and his stream. He is the reason I deposited my first $30 and never looked back.
How long have you been streaming for?
I have been streaming for a litlle less than two years now. I was searching for a hobby via the internet and discovered Twitch. I immediately fell in love thanks to the interaction and meeting new people. That’s what Twitch is all about!
Since then I had the privilege to meet amazing poker professionals and make new friends.
What was the strangest thing that happened to you while streaming?
The weirdest thing that happened to me while streaming was that I forgot to turn of the stream and I was changing my pants, singing and dancing.
Does streaming help you play poker better?
I can’t say I play better while streaming, because a certain focus goes towards chat, notifications, etc. My off-stream sessions are much more profitable for me. But it’s not all about money.
Do you prefer online or live poker?
I am a huge fan of both online and live poker. If I had the opportunity to play live more often, I would choose live, because there is much more interaction and reads you can get from certain players.
Where is your dream destination to play in a live Cash Game Festival?
I would go to any country in Europe. That would be huge honor and opportunity for me. I’m a dreamer by default, so any country is good for me.
What games do you plan to play during your Cash Game Festival Online stream?
I plan to play up to NL€25. These are the limits I feel the most confident in so far.
What are your expectations for the Cash Game Festival Online?
My expectations for Cash Game Festival online is to meet new people, make new friends, and take them all their money (sarcasm).
