Meet Cash Game Festival Online Streamer Glenn Fogarty

Ireland’s Glenn “4ofakind1489” Fogarty has been playing poker most of his life and is an admin at the poker and staking community Staking101.com.
While Fogarty has yet to play in a live Cash Game Festival, he plans to join in on history by playing in the first-ever Cash Game Festival Online. Additionally, the soon-to-be 27 year old poker player will be streaming live his no-limit hold’em action on the second day of the festival, Tuesday, Oct. 25.
Fogarty shared with us a bit about how he got into poker along with a funny story about why maybe drinking and poker don’t always mix.
When did you get into poker and how did you get into it?
I always played card games in school as a kid for lunch money and so was always into card games. I got into five-card poker pretty early on and then Texas hold’em in my local pub at 18
Do you prefer live or online poker and why?
I prefer online poker for the simple fact you can keep on registering into games, pick your own starting times, have more variety, etc. However, one big regret of mine is not playing nearly enough live games.
Pretty soft here in Ireland and great fun.
Do you prefer cash games or tournaments and why?
I prefer tournaments for the sheer excitement and possibility of nailing down a big scores. I do love live cash games though for again the social side of things and it is pretty soft.
Would you like to attend a land-based Cash Game Festival, if so where would be your dream location?
For sure I would like to attend a land-based Cash Game Festival. I got to say my dream destination would be the Bahamas. It just looks amazing!  I will get there one day.
What do you do for fun outside of poker?
This is one of my biggest leaks. I do not have anywhere near as much balance as I should have and something I really need to fix fast. I am really into most sports, but used to play snooker nearly as much as I play poker. So I feel I need to get back to this.
Where is your favorite place to play live poker?
It has to be the Jackpot here in Ireland, lots of really drunk and funny guys and the games are the softest I have ever seen. Although, I have to admit that I have not traveled a bunch. So I don’t have a whole lot of options.
What do you like about Staking 101?
Got too be the community for sure. I am an admin there and there is never a dull moment too be had. Even if you’re down for whatever reason, there is always someone to make an absolutely hideous remark and get the giggles going.
What is one of your funniest moments in poker?
Oh, this is actually pretty sore still to this day but this moment has to be the funniest for sure. I was in the Jackpot pretty drunk about three to four years ago. It was a €1 €2 live game, and we were about 200 big blinds deep.
I had pocket-kings in the hole and opened in early position. I was 3-bet by a rather maniac opponent. Long story short, I put over half my stack in the middle. I was so drunk saw ace-high flop and snap folded to a bet after forgetting everything about the hand and the opponent. He exposed that he bet with four-six offsuit.
What was your best poker moment?
Probably my first four-digit score. It felt so good at the time and gave me a bankroll too play with.
