Cash Game Festival Bratislava About to Begin
September 25, 2019Beer Bike and Tons of Poker on Day 2 of the CGF Bratislava
September 27, 2019The Cash Game Festival Bratislava at Banco Casino kicked off the first of its five days in style yesterday with the cash room full of cash and the tournament area attracting a big crowd as well.
The day for some never ended with a Super Dealer’s Choice game still running from last night deep into the afternoon with no signs of it breaking up.
Franke Wins First TV Table
Cash Game Festival Co-Founder Martin “Franke” von Zweigbergk (pictured below) was the biggest winner at the first televised feature table with stakes at €2/€2 PLO. It was the first time we have adopted a dealer’s choice format at the feature table where the player on the button could choose whether it was four-card or five-card PLO.
It wasn’t all smooth sailing for Franke. He was down a couple of buy-ins when he was questioned during a flash interview during the stream. He thought he would be down more but won a big hand thinking he was drawing close to dead. It was the first time at the table the straddle was pushed around to €32.
Franke had one of the shorter stacks at the moment and felt he was committed post-flop despite missing the board. He shared with the table he would need to go to the ATM after the hand. One of his two opponents flopped the top set of jacks but Franke hit a gut-shot straight draw on the turn. He faded tons of outs and won the hand despite the second opponent improved to a set of aces.
Things went smooth for Franke the rest of the way and he booked a total profit of €184.
James Crawley Wins Second TV Table
After the first TV table was finished, the Cash Game Festival invited everyone to welcome drinks before the second table began.
It was an action-packed €2/€5 NLHE feature table featuring players from around Europe with players competing from the United Kingdom, Netherlands, France, Italy, and of course, the home country of Slovakia.
James Crawley (pictured below) won €661, which was good enough to be the king of the table after the final hand was completed. Most of the table continued to play with the same line-up after the lights and cameras were shut down for the night.
For the first time, the Cash Game Festival will be awarding three trophies. One will go to the player that wins the most big blinds in any NLHE feature table, one will go to the player that wins the most big blinds at any PLO feature table, and the final trophy will go to the player that wins the most big blinds/antes at any of the mixed game feature tables. Each trophy winner will also walk away with a €1,000 package to our next stop at the Poker Room Bucharest on Oct. 16-20.
