Cash Game Festival has landed!
April 1, 2016Full house and ping pong to kick off the weekend
April 2, 2016First of all…thank you all for signing up on the pre-registration page and making the buzz around Cash Game Festival even bigger. The first two days here in London at Aspers Casino has been a great success, with more tables running simultaneously than at any Cash Game Festival before.
Following the first days high attendance numbers we were hoping to at least match them during day two on Thursday. Tables started filling a bit slower and later than last day, but when we hit the after work hours things picked up quickly. By the end of the streaming at around 1am we were up to the same levels as Wednesday, but with more people circulating the bar and lounge area surrounding the poker room related to the festival.
The second day also launched the extra day time stream at 4pm, adding another slot to the existing two sessions per day we have been used to at earlier events. Throughout the rest of this week we will keep running three sessions a day with the first one always kept at a low buyin and with an even more relaxed approach. Sign up/register and join the fun! 🙂
The first streaming session saw a very friendly NLH lineup with Pedro Canali from RankingHero and the Estonian poker couple Raigo Aasmaa and his much prettier half Ainika Bobrovskaja joining the action. Also joining them were a Swedish group of players with organizer Martin “Franke” von Zweigberck, chef Anders Dahl and former WSOP 2009 bracelet winner Tomas Alenius. Banter at the table was high and in the end Franke lost £750 in a short space of time with Sanjay Naresh Patel taking almost half of the money and finishing up as the sessions biggest winner with +350bb.
For the second session where the blinds went up to £2/£5 and switched to PLO, Sanjay kept his seat and bought in for his profit from the lower buyin table. Unfortunately for him he busted his stack and ended break even for the sessions, but hopefully still having a great time whilst playing for free. Mohammed Abrar Yasin was the biggest winner at this table picking up a 200bb profit. Other winner included Steven Game and Harry Lodge. On the losing side joining Sanjay we found Joe Crampsie, Juan Sanchez and local player Chris dropping almost 165bb.
The last battle of the day gave us the big hitters in the juicy £5/£10 PLO with Nik Persaud returning form last nights high stakes game and Anthony Harder staying from the earlier £2/£5 PLO. Anthony was in for roughly £3500 and had an early exit versus Nik who was running hot most of the stream. He was by far the biggest winner when we counted the stacks taking down a massive 1400bb and almost doubling his buyin of £15,000. Andrew Seabright (-700bb) and Jamie Roberts (-1000bb) were two of the not so lucky ones. Players Gang and Pepe benefitted from players busting and leaving their seats to join late but win big, cashing out over £8000 and £7000 between them.
Friday streaming schedule as follows:
- At 4.30pm : £1/£1 TNL
- At 7pm : £2/£5 TNL
- At 9.30pm : £25/£50 TNL
Tomorrow we are also happy to have Marc Convey back commentating with us and we really look forward to some higher stakes action taking place both at the stream and in the poker room. For the £10/£25 games and above we have 25+ players pre-registered, and some big name players are expected to join the festival. During the busiest weekend hours we are expecting full action and every table to be filled up with games on all levels and for every taste.
