Oleksii Kuznietsov Makes History Day 3 of the CGF Sunny Beach
August 10, 2019CGF Returns to Banco Casino Bratislava on Sept. 25-29
August 15, 2019We crowned a new captain on Day 4 of the 2019 CGF Sunny Beach. Congrats to Dmitry Tsykalov for winning the trophy after winning the most big blinds at any of the first eight TV tables.
For most of the festival, it appeared that Viacheslav Kovalev would win the trophy. He brought his own captain’s hat to the festival that he wore whenever in the casino and lived up to the hype with a big win on a TV table on the first day with a 335 big blind profit at the €1/€2 NLHE TV table.
This lead was safe until the first TV table with stakes at €2/€2 5-card PLO on Day 4. The action was hot and heavy and when the final hands were being dealt both Barrie Dear and Dmitry were ahead of Viacheslav with a couple of other players potentially able to grab the lead for the trophy it if they doubled up.
Dmitry was able to pull it out after booking a profit of 555 big blinds and just had to sweat one more table with stakes at €2/€5 NLHE. He was watching the action close to the TV table in anticipation for the win. Even when the final hands were being dealt and it was apparent his lead would hold, he was still not confident he would hold on.
After the final hand, the casino celebrated Dmitry’s trophy win with drinks and a group photo.
Alexander Also Shines
Alexander Herasimov pulled off a rare feat yesterday by winning his third televised feature table this festival. He booked a table high €793 (158.6 big blinds)at the late €2/€5 NLHE feature table.
Previously, Alexander also was the biggest winner on Day 2’s €1/€2 NLHE TV table (248.5 big blinds) and on Day 4’s €2/€5 NLHE TV table (86.8 big blinds).
Other TV table winners on the first four days included Stanislav Parkhomenko, Angel Ivanov, and Oleksii Kuznetsov.
What’s on Tap on Day 5?
The sun is once again shining but this doesn’t mean there won’t be tons of poker action as the day becomes night.
Sviten Special fans will be in for a treat as we will have a stream in this poker variant also known as Drawmaha starting at 7 p.m. EEST (5 p.m. GMT/6 p.m. CEST). After a quick dinner break, there will be more poker action streamed for CGF fans as well.
This table will not count towards the trophy competition as a change was made to award the trophy on Saturday night in front of a packed casino.
Be sure to check out our Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube to follow the action close and personal. And, of course, don’t forget to tune into our Twitch stream to watch what promises to be some fun action at both of our TV tables starting at 7 p.m. EEST (5 p.m. GMT/6 p.m. CEST).
