Day 4 at the Cash Game Festival – Breakfast at Poker Room’s & a Pole Dancing Competition in the Slovenian Style
March 14, 2017The Cash Game Festival’s Next Stop is Tallinn in the Brand-New Las Vegas Style Olympic Park Casino
March 16, 2017... Continued from day 4 HIGHLIGHTS.
Sunday started slow and quiet after the previous night’s VIP party. Hotel corridors were quiet and not a single player in sight. The breakfast was served, indeed, but was most likely not eaten by the Cash Game Festival crowd. Despite the morning in Nova Gorica being invitingly sunny and warm, we were not sure if our players would make it out of their hotel rooms by 12 at noon.
Luckily, our worst expectations were not met as people showed up on time (Some were only a little late.) to catch our ride to the Slovenia’s most amazing Postojna cave. The ride was fun with the players still feeling elevated from the night before. There was certainly a lot of party talk going on in that little bus. Even some phone calls were made to share the juicy details from the previous night’s party with those left behind at the hotel; and some gaps needed to be filled in, so that everybody would be on the same page as to what exactly happened at the VIP party.
Half-way through the trip, many realized that they hadn’t had any breakfast. So, the decision was made to stop for sandwiches and drinks a la gas station style. Then the drive continued. We made it to the tourist office to buy tickets only to realize that we had more than an hour to wait till the cave tour. Then we decided to buy some Slovenian beer and enjoy it in the sun. On the other hand, our camera guy Robert thought it best to take a refreshing nap right in the grass. Must have been exhausting for him to film all that pole dancing activity the night before.
Beers enjoyed, it was time for us to set foot on the cave. Right at the cave’s entrance, our ever-brilliant Andro pretended to be a formal tour guide (to get a girl’s number) and named us the group #69. The number was 47 at first but 69 sounded so much better. The name stuck, so we headed into the cave with great confidence, freshly named and all.
Having entered the cave, we had to take a 2-kilometre mind-blowing ride into the heart of the cave in an open top train. Some of us confused a modest Asian tourists group by announcing our group’s newly acquired name rather loud as our train passed theirs. No harm done as we made many from the group smile and wave to us. We all know that smiling is infectious and that good mood must be spread around, so that everybody can enjoy their day. All in a day’s work of the Cash Game Festival team.
Despite not having had a decent amount of sleep, group #69 was the merriest in the cave, smiling, laughing, singing, dancing and bombarding the tour guide with several questions and bad jokes. Obviously, we are positive people, attracting other positive and adventurous people. At the heart of our festival are the people who know how to get the party going under any circumstances.
The cave was amazing and left all of us in awe. It is hard to describe in words how cool it was in there. To sum up, everybody now wants to visit it again.
While group #69 was shaking the cave, the Cash Game Festival’s production team was hard at work back at the Casino Perla, setting up the last live TV table to be streamed on our Twitch channel from the Slovenian festival. Our production team is simply amazing, figuring their way out of even the most technically difficult situations. Thank you, guys!
We would also like to thank the Casino Perla for hosting us. Special thanks to Miro Karlaš and Petra Winkler from the Casino Perla. You helped us make it happen. We are hoping to return next year. Thank you!
Since the Slovenian festival is now over, it is time to start thinking about the next stop in Tallinn (April 26th-30th) which is also the Cash Game Festival’s home town. Olymipc Park Casino will be our host, and we are expecting a lot of players every night. We recommend finding the accommodation at Hilton Park Hotel which is in the same building with the casino.
Also, for your information, Tallinn Lennart Meri Airport which is the largest international airport in Estonia, is only about a 20-minute ride away from the city center where the casino is located. And it is easy to use Taxify app to order a taxi to the hotel/casino.
We are hoping to see you in Tallinn!
Yours,
The Cash Game Festival Team
