Day 4 at Cash Game Festival in Bulgaria – Prop Bet Not Again!
August 13, 2017Qualify for Cash Game Festival London Stop
August 16, 2017On day 5, for the first time during our stay here, Sunny Beach’s weather showed its slightly moodier side. In the afternoon, the clouds were gathering, the wind was rising and the temperature dropped a little which was a welcome break from the usual blazing sun.
In the morning, some players were tired from the VIP party the day before but still managed to go snorkeling in the early afternoon to freshen up in the waves of the Black Sea. The activity was planned as a part of CGF hospitality package, and led by the never-tired CGF project manager Andro Loos.
The last day at Cash Game Festival Bulgaria stop at Platinum Casino & Hotel has been great. Yet another day full of good emotions and great cash games. We completed the roulette challenge with nice prices to our London stop in September for top 5 winners. We also played good cash games and witnessed the epic prop bet between Monika & Martin Franke von Zweigbergk unwinding. The games lasted till the early Sunday morning. What more can we ask from one Sunday?
Day 4 prop bet saga continued on day 5 with Andro Loos from team Franke going heads up with Monika at 8 PM. Monika won round 1. Round 2 between Monika and Andro was full of tension and excitement at the same time. Despite being an awesome poker pro, Monika lost which gave her a ticket to the road trip to Tallinn, Estonia via Faro, Portugal with a Slowball car, an old pre-loved Volkswagen Passat. Andro losing the round would have given Monika the opportunity to go heads up with Franke for the final chance to win. However, this did not happen. Monika accepted her faith with a brave smile. There were loads of hugging and Franke passed her the car keys. Now we can officially announce that Betasfe’s ambassador, the Polish poker pro Monika Zukowicz, will drive all the way to Faro, Portugal, pick up extra-spicy Chicken Piri Piri for Franke and then drive all the way to Tallinn, Estonia to personally deliver the take-away dish to Franke’s office.
Having gotten over her initial fear, Monika will take the trip as a potentially life-changing experience. She is already asking friends to join her on the trip and planning to go to EPT in Barcelona, Spain before heading to Portugal to pick up the extra-spicy take-away. She is getting loads of support from her poker fans as well, so she won’t be alone in this. Instead, she will have a journey of her life-time. Adventure is for the young and, once in a while, everybody has to take a risk in order to get to the next level. Ten years from now, she will, undoubtedly, look back at this day and smile. Moreover, what a great story she will have for her future children and grandchildren. We wish Monika all the luck in the world and would love to receive daily updates, even vlogs, from her journey. You can follow her adventures on her Facebook.
Some of the players in Bulgria have already informed us that they would be at CGF London stop at Aspers Casino Westfield Stratford City in East London on September 20th – 24th. Moreover, we met players to whom CGF Bulgaria stop was their first ever CGF experience, and who have already confirmed that they would be in London. For example, we met a lovely Norwegian couple Tove and Jorg. They were having a holiday in Sunny Beach and were planning to play some tournaments at Platinum Casino. However, with CGF festival in town, they ended up playing at the festival every day. “We have never played so many cash games than here at the Cash Games Festival,” Tove exclaimed with an excited smile. They are from a smaller Norwegian town and will invite some of their local poker club friends to London stop as well. So, we’ll meet again in a considerably cooler climate. However, the cash game action in London will be heated as always in the good old England.
The first 1 / 2 hold’em Twitch TV table saw Brandon Allen, CGF Twitch commentator at the TV table again as Jason Glatzer from Pokernews happily accepted the responsibility of doing Brandon’s job at the commentary booth. This time, Brandon was out of the game early, so he resumed his duties in the commentary booth soon enough. Besides, his chat missed him.
Also, somebody from Brandon’s Twitch chat recommended that the Cash Game Festival should also take place in Holland. Their reasoning was that when WSOP would be in Holland then CGF would have to be there as well. What a nice suggestion. We do everything we can to get to do as many stops as possible. Having a stop in a particular country is dependent on so many factors and we need to consider the pros and cons of each location before we make the final decision. With several stops still to go this year, we will also start planning out the next year’s schedule early enough.
Cash Game Festival roulette challenge got a group of excited cash gamers gathering at the roulette table at 10 PM. The top 5 winners were announced at 1 AM. These five persons will get nice prizes to London, such as full CGF London travel packages (for two) and stake money for our London stop games. Congratulations for the winners!
