Day 3 of the Cash Game Festival in Bulgaria – You Can Wear an Apron if You Want To!
August 12, 2017Day 5 at the Cash Game Festival – Prop Bet, Prop Bet! And Chicken Piri Piri …
August 14, 2017Day 4 at the Cash Game Festival started with a news that some of the players had pulled yet another epic overnight Sviten Special round. London-based poker player, the owner of a horse racing betting company, James, shared on his Facebook that him and Pokernews Jason Glatzer had been up all night, playing Sviten. In the photo was very tired-looking but happy Jason. What would CGF be without these epic overnighters?
UK-based Cash Game Festival regular Michael Fletcher was at the casino early on day 4. We had a chance to have a little chat about the current festival. He is happy here. He loves the Bulgarian stop. Loves the weather, the hotel, the food, the casino and, most importantly, the games here at Platinum Casino. This time, Michael was traveling here with a friend who seems to be happy here and was mixing nicely with the CGF crowd at last night’s VIP party.
The first TV table was 1 / 2 hold’em again. In seat #2 was Henry Kilbane from UK. He suffered some losses during the first TV table session. Jokingly, he called himself a donkey for it. Despite the loss, he played at the later 1 / 3 hold’em TV table as well where, however, Denmark’s Ronni Borg, a NordicBet qualifier, managed to make the biggest profit. The latter did not discourage Henry for making plans to be at CGF London stop on September 20th-24th.
Henry would not call him-self a pro player despite playing cash games for living at this point in his life. At the moment, he does not have a permanent residence – for the past year, he has been on the road, playing poker. A great adventure for a young guy like him, for sure. How did Henry found out about the Cash Game Festival? He is the member of one of the largest poker groups on Facebook called Ace High Poker with more than 4000 committed members. Recently, he saw some of our Twitch TV table hand reviews that had been posted in the group, and became interested in the festival. He contacted us and here he is.
A super nice guy, he already managed to make friends with CGF team. He was also telling us that Ace High Poker group would take it to the next level by starting to organize regular meet-ups for its members. It could be that in the future, we will see more Aces at our Cash Game Festival stops. Especially, expecting some of them to come to our London stop.
As Cash Game Festival Bulgaria stop has proved to be a perfect prop bet location, yet another epic one was forming in Bulgaria on day 4. Last year’s Bulgarian-style prop bet got more publicity to the participants than they could have ever imagined – full coverage by the Polish national media and more. To freshen your memory, you can read about the last year’s bet here.
Yesterday, a prop bet between Cash Game Festival co-founder Franke and the Polish poker pro Monika Zukowicz, also the ambassador of Betsafe, started forming with excited discussions just before the second TV table. Moreover, the decision was made to broadcast the prop bet first action on Pokernews live with the help of Jason Glatzer from Pokernews.
So, what are the main condition of the crazy bet? If Franke loses, he needs to get a job in the Estonian grocery store chain Maxima, and work there as a cashier for one month in November. If Monika loses, she has to drive to Portugal and then back to Estonia with a Slowball car currently parked in front of Platinum Casino. The aim of about 3-week journey would be to pick up Franke’s food in Portugal and then deliver it to his office in Tallinn, Estonia. As Franke put it in his yesterday’s Facebook post, “I’m sending her to Faro in a Slowball car from Cash Game Festival Bulgaria to pick up a Chicken Piri Piri to my office in Tallinn, Estonia. Thank you, Michael Robinson and Betsafe for good food to be delivered.” Day 5 will show how the prop bet unwinds and who will get a chance to live up to his/her commitments.
By 10 PM, there were 11 tables running in Platinum Casinos poker room. At 3 AM, the cash game action was in full gear with tables running till morning. With some players arriving back at the casino from VIP party, even more seats got filled.
The VIP parties at the Cash Game Festival are always a treat. People socialize, dance and enjoy their drinks. Yesterday’s party took place in a beach club called La Cubanita. It was fun as always with people dancing and talking for hours. We were also lucky to see a local summer model bikini competition.
Again, we would like to thank our super Partners Platinum Casino, Betsson, Betsafe, Betsafe Eesti, NodicBet, EuropeBet, Bets10. Without you, we would not be able to do what we do now – offering great venue for cash-gamers at our live events and putting on full live stream production twice a day on each festival day. Bear hug to you all!
Yours,
Cash Game Festival Team
