Poker Live à Londres – Le Cash Game Festival est de retour!
January 4, 2018Week-End Poker sur Londres | Cash Game Festival
January 6, 2018The Cash Game Festival here in London at Aspers Stratford keeps getting bigger as the weekend approaches. On Friday night, the poker madness peaked at 24 tables with many players grinding till the early morning hours. Like always at the festival.
We also had a couple of Sviten Special tables running with the Cash Game Festival’s project manager Andro Loos enjoying the exciting game at one of them. Some play the game for the first time at our festival and they get hooked. Never a boring moment with Sviten. And this is a game that could be hard to get at your local casino outside CGF hours.
About the TV tables. The first one featured our hardworking Twitch commentator Ryan “Metalface” Davey with PokerNews editor Jason Glatzer and a freelance reporter William Powell commenting the action. What a poker knowledge in the booth. The stream viewers benefited greatly from the analysis and commentary by Jason and William who “breathe” everything poker.
Mr Metalface certainly proved to his fans that he can win in front of the cameras too. However, Alasdair Alexander was the biggest winner by booking £463 or 231.5 big blinds at the early Friday evening £1/£2 hold’em table.
When the first feature table was on, qualifiers and the players with the hospitality packages were taken out to a VIP dinner in a Brazilian restaurant where the food was delicious. While good meals were being enjoyed off the felt, the casino’s poker room kept getting busier and busier. So, by the time people returned, there was a decent waiting list for tables to open. In the end, all settled down for games and the mood in our team area was high with many players dropping by for some light and fun conversations.
Around 8.30 PM, the second TV table began with the stakes of €5/€10 hold’em. The table was full of experienced players showing their admirable skills. It was super nice to see David Clarkson joining in as well. He missed our September 2017 London festival but a year ago, he had been the biggest winner at two feature tables here. This time, he joined the live action a little later and managed to ship a big profit of £2655 or 265.5 big blinds. Congratulations!
Despite Alexander’s and Clarkson’s big wins, neither of them is currently in the run for the TV table trophy that goes to a player winning the most big blinds during any of the 11 (Today, January 6th, there will be 3 TV tables!) live sessions here in London. Sam Miller is still in the lead after winning £5775 or 1155 big blinds on a £2/£5 Omaha feature table.
It is Saturday which means VIP party time! If you are still alive tomorrow, you will get a chance for a nice early Sunday afternoon side activity here in London. Isn’t it nice to wake up early on Sunday after a long night out? Sure it is! You’ll sleep after the festival wink-wink!
