Sum Yip in the Lead for the CGF Trophy on Day 3 of the CGF Tallinn

July 5, 2019The Cash Game Festival Tallinn at Olympic Park Casino on June 12-16, 2019 was a huge success. The festival featured many firsts including a new trophy winner in Bobby James. In addition, it was the first time that we partnered with the Microgaming Poker Network (MPN) and the first time we introduced five-card Omaha at our televised feature tables.

MPN Hits the Cash Game Festival
This may have been the ninth time the festival has hit Tallinn but as we already mentioned it was the first time that the festival partnered with the MPN. The red carpet was rolled out for nearly a dozen players qualifying to the festival with a CGF Tallinn package at MPN partner sites 32Red, Betsson, betsafe, Guts, and Redstar.
The players were treated to tons of poker action around the clock along with the option of appearing at our televised feature tables. This was not all as players had a blast and immediately felt part of the Cash Game Festival family with plenty of activities planned including welcome drinks, a relaxing afternoon at the spa, a costume outing to a fair, a VIP party, and a guided tour.
Some of the players have already confirmed they will be back at our next stop at Platinum Casino in Sunny Beach, Bulgaria on Aug. 7-11 for some fun in the sun and of course tons of poker.
Bobby James Wins the Trophy
Bobby James (lead image) has been on the road with the Cash Game Festivals for several spots along with his friend Nicholas Kennedy. His first time on the road for the festival was in April when the CGF made its third visit to Banco Casino in the Slovakian capital of Bratislava. He then hit sunny Malta at Portomaso Casino in May for our next festival partnered with the Malta Poker Championships before joining us in Tallinn in June.
His third time traveling outside of London for a Cash Game Festival was a charm as he won €5,054 at a €2/€2 five-card PLO televised feature table which included a monster last hand of the festival for a 2,527 big blind win. This was easily good enough to win the CGF Tallinn trophy awarded to the player that won the biggest amount of big blinds out of any of our ten televised feature table. Along with the trophy, Bobby also won a package to our next event in Sunny Beach on Aug. 7-11 where he has a chance to become a repeat CGF champion.
For a while, it was looking good for Hong Kong’s Sum Yip (pictured above) to win the CGF Tallinn trophy after winning an impressive 1,197.5 big blinds on a €2/€2 PLO feature table on Day 3 for €2,395 in profit. He traveled to the Estonian capital from London with his friend Ivan Tang. Ivan, who won two feature tables of his own, was obviously hopeful his friend would win but Sum couldn’t hold on after Bobby’s impressive performance.
Other players to win the most at televised feature tables during the festival included Jaana Kindsigo, Sergei, Daniel Eriksson, MPN qualifier at Guts Poker Toumas Urtti, Nicholas Kennedy, and Rikard Relander. Congrats to all the big t.v. table winners!
