The third day gave us some great high stakes action
November 28, 2015Festival comes to an end with two competition winners
November 30, 2015After three successful days and several appreciated activities outside of the poker tables, the streaming schedule was bringing us a €2/€2 omaha cash game followed by a juicier €5/€10 holdem. The viewer numbers on Twitch has been growing day by day and surpassed 10,000 views during Saturday, which is a great number considering it’s our first time using it thanks to the team from HDPokerStream.com
Returning to our first stream of the day was Canadian born chess guru and turned poker pro Jeff Sarwer. Unfortunately for him he ended up losing 300bb with most of them going to the huge winner of the session, the Finnish born Kim Kallman winning over 700bb and putting him in contention for the prize as the weeks biggest winner relative to the buyin. A competition held by the poker community RankingHero giving two winners free accommodation and a gift bag from 888Poker at the upcoming festival in London 2016.
Kim Kallmans dominant performance at the table resulted in only two more players ending with a positive balance and local player Meelis Vist being of them and checking out with a €400 profit.
The evening feature table brought us mostly well known faces from earlier this week with Aaro Valkila, Mark Joa and Enri Orav all making their third appearance. Also returning fresh from a big win at yesterdays high stake battle was businessman Uno. He kept running good and turned in yet another profit, although the biggest winner of the day turned out to be Estonian player Mark Joa. Mark is mainly a cash game player but earlier this year he finished runner up at the Italian Masters of Poker in Rozvadov.
Cash Game Festival organizer Enri Orav had a hugely disappointing outing losing almost €6000, but still in high spirit over a successfully run festival. Aaro Valkila joined him in the losers column but turned his bad fortunes in to a much better result in the early morning hours at the non-streamed high stakes table inside the Olympic Casino.
VIP-players of the event partners also had the opportunity of joining for a steak dinner at the trendy restaurant and store of Sfäär. Except for being a popular dinner place serving meals with locally sourced ingredients featuring a classic Scandinavian design, it also hosts a line of high-quality fashion brands. An experience Aaro Valkila seemed to appreciate walking out of there with a new wool winter sweater from Ireland.
The final day of the Cash Game Festival is expected to bring us a standard €2/€2 texas holdem table followed by an exciting €5/€10 dealers choice outing allowing the players to play virtually any games using cards, as long as all participants agree on it. Should be great fun!
